What does it take to get a job at ReadyTalk?

There's a lot that goes into being one of the Top 10 Companies to work for in Colorado, and it starts with our hiring process. We strive to be a strengths-based organization, which means our end goal is to have each employee in a job that uses their NATURAL talents on a daily basis.

Applying

So, how do we determine what a candidate's natural talents are? Well, the first step is to fill out our application for employment. If you attach a resume, you can leave the "Record of Employment" section blank.

Once you have filled out the application, you will be directed to a different website to begin an online profile assessment through Profiles International. This profile asks questions surrounding learning style, occupational interests and basic behavioral characteristics. This profile typically takes about an hour to complete, although some candidates have taken longer.

For some positions, we also use written questionnaires to help us better understand a candidate's thoughts and philosophies that might be pertinent to the open position. We use this profile and questionnaire in conjunction with the candidate's resume to determine a basic fit for each role and identify key talents.

Review Process

Typically, we review candidates as they apply, but it is common for hundreds of candidates to apply when we open a new position. It can take several days, possibly as long as 1 to 2 weeks, to review applications.

The Manager of Talent Acquisition will call to conduct a short phone interview with candidates we have determined might be a good fit. This short interview helps confirm/deny a candidate's fit and to gather more information for the hiring manager. If we find evidence of the talents we're looking for, we bring that candidate in for a round of "Talents" interviews.

Interviews

The talent interview is usually comprised of 2 to 3 rounds of interviews. The purpose of these interviews is to dig deeper into a candidate's natural talents and drive. Typically, we try to schedule these interviews within a week of the first phone interview, should scheduling allow.

Once we have determined that a candidate is a ‘natural' for the role, the final step is a cultural interview. The purpose of the cultural interview is to assess a candidate's values and character traits. This helps us predict how a candidate will compliment the ReadyTalk team and their ability to be productive and successful in our environment. This interview is an opportunity to understand the candidate's values, work ethic, and how they work with others within the framework of our company's culture. The entire interview process could take 2 to 5 weeks (based on the interview process outlined by the hiring manager).

Joining the Team

Why do we have candidates jump through all these hoops? Well, imagine going to a job that was in every way a perfect fit for you; you love the work, and you know you do it well; and you believe in the corporate values and trust upper management

When we do a good job in this hiring process, everyone involved benefits. We do the diligence on the front end so we can have engaged, happy and productive employees long term.

This is just one small part in what makes us one of the top companies to work for in Colorado.
